Joan Walker, age 91, of Polo, died Monday, April 15, 2024 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.
Joan was born March 21, 1933 in Dixon, the daughter of Fred and Wanda (Verble) McCleary. She was employed by Hey Brothers and ran her own daycare. Joan had a green thumb and collected gnomes. She loved cooking and had quite a collection of cook books.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Gearhart of Ragland, AL and Jody (George) Griffin of Bristol, TN; one granddaughter, Nicole Huggins of Dixon; three grandsons, Michael O’Brien of Dixon, Patrick (Jennifer) Lee of Byron, and Tyler Reynolds of the Chicago area; seven great grandchildren, Chloe, Conner, Patrick, Jr., Elizabeth, Brylee, Skyler, and Taylor; and additional family members, Wanda (Billy Shirley) Mon of Polo and Felecia, Monica, Cody, Scott, and Josh (Carissa) Shirley, Jeven, Ethan, Kaden, Aspen, Zayln, Michael, Braylyn, and Hunter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Vicky Lee; one brother, Jack; two granddaughters, Michelle O’Brien and Danielle Huggins; and one great granddaughter, Janel.
