Charles A. Rogers, Sr.

 Charles A. Rogers, Sr., age 82, of Dixon, died Friday, September 29, 2017 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.

 Charlie was born May 11, 1935 in Amboy the son of Howard and Eva (Willsted) Rogers.  He married Shirley Angier on August 15, 1954.  She preceded him in death on December 11, 1999.  Charlie was employed as a lineman for Com Ed for 38 years and later farmed for 12 years.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dixon and was a lifelong member of the Elks Club.   He loved his retirement years living on the Rock River and fishing.  He enjoyed hunting and vacationing in Ft. Myers and St. Augustine, Fla. and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.  Charlie will be missed by his family, friends and faithful dog, Duke.

 Survivors include his children, Debbie Swenson of St. Augustine, Fla., one son, Chuck, Jr. (Arlene) Rogers of Dixon and Diane Wolf of Dixon; one sister, Ila Mae (Kenny) Siebern of Dixon; two brothers, Don (Joyce) Rogers of Oregon and Roy (Roxie) Rogers of Ohio; three grandchildren, Jeff Meixell, Brandon Rogers and TJ Wolf; and four great grandchildren, Dallas Meixell, Kamryn Rogers, Kinley Rogers and Winston Rogers.

 He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and one brother, Howard, Jr.

 Visitation will be Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 5 – 7 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon.  Funeral services will be Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Dixon with Reverend Tim Mitchell officiating.  Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

 Memorials have been established to the First United Methodist Church in Dixon and the Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.
