POLO- Darrel N. Hepp, 66 of Polo passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Serenity Hospice House in Oregon.

Darrel was born on March 9, 1951 in Dixon, the son of Norris and Ethel (King) Hepp.  He married his loving wife Karolyn Scott on June 11, 1972 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon.  

Surviving is his wife, Karolyn Hepp of Polo; two daughters, Amanda Hepp and Cassandra Hepp; and a grandson Ben J Myers all of Polo. Special adopted daughters, Adrienne Haye of Amboy, Julie Haye of GA, and Kendra Rogers of Polo; sisters, Marlene (Jerry) Izer and Donna (Barry) Rittenhouse both of Mt. Morris, and Sharol (Jeff) Hutson of Polo; a special niece Kalee Hutson and a special nephew Tanner Hutson; mother-in-law, EL Louise Heitz; one sister in-law Lori (Ross) Peebles; three nephews; and three nieces.  

Preceding him in death are his parents and one brother.

Darrel worked for over 30 years as a CNC Operator at Woods.  He was a hard worker, loving husband, father and grandfather.  He had a huge love for music, and grew up playing many different instruments.  He went on to start a band “The Country Ryders”, and played throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.  Darrel was a diehard White Sox fan, and he loved the Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks.  He had an uncanny memory for sports, music and movie trivia. He was quick witted, and loved to laugh. 

Darrel’s loving nature and charm will be missed by all those that knew him.

A Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1013 Franklin Grove Road, Dixon.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the church.  Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. We ask that you wear your favorite Chicago team shirt. But please, no Cubs.
