Edward "Cookie Monster" F. Cook
Edward "Cookie Monster" F. Cook, 68, of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at home.
Ed was born August 18, 1950 in Sterling the son of Ervin and Elizabeth Cook. He served in the US Army as Private First Class and later was employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire for 30 years. He was an avid Harley rider and former beer drinker.
Survivors include four siblings, Rebecca (Rick) Smith of Lyndon, Shelly (Tim) Williams of Bono, Ark., Frank Cook of Rochelle and Robert Cook of Rock Falls; two nieces, Linda (Chris) Hendrick of Forreston and Heidi Cook of Dixon; two nephews, Michael (Holly) Smith of Dixon and Christopher Coy of Rochelle; three great nieces, Grace and Emma Smith and Jariyah Chattic; three great nephews, Jy’ralde Chattic and Marcus and Isaiah Shover; many other nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews; and special friend, Diane Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Mary Cook and Wanda Cook.
A graveside service with military honors will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Rock Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Serenity Hospice and Iowa City VA Hospital.
