Geneva L. Beane

 Geneva L. Beane, age 94, of Sterling, died Saturday, June 16, 2018 at her home.

Geneva was born October 15, 1923 in Fancy Farm, Ky. the daughter of Coleman and Mattie (Clark) Handley.  She married Donald O. Beane on June 10, 1944 in Dixon.  She was a homemaker and was part owner of People’s Market in Sterling.  Geneva was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and played in a card club for over 50 years.

 Survivors include her husband of 74 years, Donald Beane of Sterling; two daughters, Judith Atwell of Sterling and Terri (Ed) Staelens of Sterling; and one grandson, Scot (Tabitha) Atwell of St. Peters, Mo.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles Handley and Milton Handley; and one sister, Anna Marie Weed.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 10 – 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon.  Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Carlson officiating.  Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
