John E. Jacobs, Jr.

          John E. Jacobs, Jr., age 90, of Dixon, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

          John was born December 30, 1928 in Harmon the son of John B. Jacobs, Sr. and Lucinda (Portner) Jacobs.  He married Eleanor Stewart on January 20, 1950.  She passed on August 17, 2007.

          He is survived by sons, David (Barb) Jacobs of Rock Falls and Dennis (Kathy) Jacobs of Byron; one brother, Earl Jacobs; three sisters, Gladys Willstead, and Grace (Keith) Willstead; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

          Preceding him in death were his wife; parents; infant son, William; grandson, Kyle; sisters, Helen DeWale, Lucille Bohn and Dora Dimming.

          John was a farmer for his entire life.  In his spare time, he loved to fish, camp and spend time with his grandchildren.

          He will be greatly missed.

          A memorial service will be held Friday, November 8, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon.  Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens where John will be laid to rest along with his wife, Eleanor.
