Sharon "Gumma" M. King
Sharon "Gumma" M. King, age 81, of Dixon, died Thursday, April
25, 2019 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.
Sharon was born March 6, 1938 in Sublette the daughter of Leon
and Pearl (Beatty)Brooks. She graduated from Glendora High School in
Glendora, Calif. and later married Edwin E. "Tampa" King on December > 27, 1954 in Dixon. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2013.
Sharon was a homemaker and attended the First Christian Church in
Dixon.
Survivors include two daughters, Marleene
(Rocky) Smith of Dixon and Natalie (Luis) Lopez of Tucson, Ariz; two
sisters, Gwen Gallentine and Gloria (Larry) Contreras both of Dixon;
one sister-in-law, Ellen Brooks of Naperville; three grandchildren,
Adam Smith of Dixon, Alison
(Todd) Asbury of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and Elyse (Steve) Nave of
Prophetstown; two step grandchildren, Casey Lester of Rockford and
Spring Lester of Sterling; four great grandchildren; several step
great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son,
Edwin E. King, Jr.; and two brothers, L.
Warren Brooks and James Brooks.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 1,
2019 at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon with Pastor
Stan Rodabaugh officiating.
A memorial has been established to the American Cancer
Society.
