Bernice Von Holten

          Bernice Von Holten, 98, Walnut, died January 8, 2021 at Heritage Health in Walnut. 

          Bernice was born October 11, 1922 in Harmon the daughter of August and Caroline (Schaefer) Schulte.  She married John A. Von Holten on August 10, 1941 in Rock Falls.  He preceded her in death on September 7, 1981.  She later married Ray Von Holten on March 12, 1983 in Rock Falls.  He preceded her in death on March 16, 2014.  Bernice was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls where she was active as a Sunday school teacher.  She left a legacy of faith in Christ.

          Survivors include five children, Roger (Lori) Von Holten of Glasgow, Ky., Joanne (Fred) Perizo of Glendale, Ariz., Marvin (Deanne) Von Holten of Glendale, Ariz.; Johnny (Chris) Von Holten of Glendale, Ariz. and Dean (Trudi) Von Holten of Switzerland; one sister, Eva Cowley of Dixon; 19 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Von Holten.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, Arnold Von Holten; four brothers; three sisters; and two great grandchildren.

          A graveside service took place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon.
