Betty V. (Veach) Buzzard

  Betty V. Buzzard, 83, of Dixon, passed away at 3:45 AM Friday (September 19, 2014) at her residence.

  She was born on September 10, 1931 in Bowen, IL to Harve & Hersie (Akers) Veach.  She married Rothell D. Buzzard on October 12, 1951 in Bowen, IL.  He preceded her in death on April 10, 2008.

  She is survived by her sons:  Steve (Terrie) Buzzard of Amboy and Rick (Denise) Buzzard of Atlanta, GA; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 Step grandchildren; 4 step greatgrandchildren and a brother, Lee Veach of Quincy, IL.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; a granddaughter, Emily; a sister, Midge Veach and brothers:  Carl and Dale Veach.

  She graduated from Bowen High School and then went to Beauty School.

  She retired from the Dixon Public Schools as the Department Manager of the Cafeterias.

  She was affiliated with the Assembly of God in Dixon.

  Private memorial services will take place at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.  Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon is in charge of the arrangements.
