Betty Duncan Obituary

Betty J. Duncan, age 91, of Mt. Morris, died Friday, July 8, 2022 at Pinecrest Manor in Mt. Morris.

          Betty was born June 18, 1931 in Chana, the daughter of John and Mabel (Aurand) Heng.  She married Donald Duncan on September 9, 1950.  He preceded her in death on August 1, 2016.  Betty was employed as a cook at Mt. Morris and Clinton schools.  She enjoyed children, particularly her grandchildren and great grandchildren, cooking, and helping people in need.

          She is survived by four children, David (Melissa Haas) Duncan of Polo, Melody (Gary Kiper) Cates of Stoughton, WI, Randy (Kathy Kurdelmeier) Duncan of Cable, WI, and Lloyd Duncan of Mt. Morris; one sister, Donna (Lyle) Deuth of Chana; one brother, Jack (DeeDee) Heng of Oregon; six grandchildren, Kraig, Kristin, Christopher, Benjamin, Isaac, and Tabitha; seven great grandchildren, Harlan, Ellis, Cecilia, Vivian, Charlie Mae, Kirin, and Beau; two step grandchildren, Briana and Brandon; two step great grandchildren, Miranda and Aubrey; and several nieces and nephews.

          She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one brother, Charles Heng.

          Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon.  A graveside service will follow at 11:15 AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

          In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Pinecrest Manor.
