Betty J Phillips

  Betty J. Phillips, 94, formerly of Dixon, passed away at 6:50 AM Monday (January 19, 2015) at Pinecrest Manor in Mt. Morris, IL.

  She was born October 5, 1920 in Dixon to George & Clara (Rudolph) Walker. 

  She is survived by her children:  Lynn (Jerry) Kersten of Rochelle, Ann (Dwight) Page of Mt Morris and Alan (Wendy) Phillips of Dixon; 7 grandchildren: Brad Kersten, Eric (Stephanie) Kersten; Brian Kersten, Terry Page, Jason (Stephanie) Page, Erik Page and Jon Phillips; numerous great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters:  Freda Hoffman of Dixon and Helen Burgess of Princeton and numerous nieces and nephews.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Tammy Page and one brother, Ferris Walker.

  She attended Dixon High School and later she went to Beauty School to become a beautician where she had worked for several years prior to marriage in Dixon.

  She had also worked for Crest Foods in Ashton where she lived for several years and had also worked at the Dixon State School.

  Upon moving to Dixon in later years she worked as a foster grandmother at the Washington School.

  Her devotion was to her family whom she loved dearly and was loved back by them.

  A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM Thursday at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon with services to follow at 2 PM at the funeral home.  Rev. Rodney Caldwell will officiate.

 Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

  Memorials may be directed to  the Kreider Center or to the Ashton Lions Club.
