Wayne was born on November 26, 1920 in Dublin, KY to Roy and Hattie (Clark) Bruce. He married the former Martha Eisele on December 21, 1940 in Fulton, TN. She preceded him in death on April 3, 2001 after years of providing unconditional love and care.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a daughter, Melody Bruce in December of 1982.
Wayne was an Army Veteran of World War II and worked for 35 years at the Medusa Cement Plant until retiring in 1982. He was also a member of the Dixon Moose Lodge.
He was a hard working and a loving father who enjoyed the gifts of nature. For many years he enjoyed tending to his bountiful gardens for all to enjoy. He and his family enjoyed family gatherings, fishing at their cabin and creating lasting memories. His gentle soul and commitment to his family carried on as he continued as a care giver to his late spouse, Martha. Wayne enjoyed his yard and waking up to his blooming morning glory flowers and watching the hummingbirds out his back window. Much like the symbolism of a hummingbird, Wayne endured many blessings while persevering through life’s journey with courage and determination.
A visitation will be held from 9-11 AM Wednesday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon with services to follow at 11 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Steve Casey will officiate.
