On October 22, 2024, Carole Lee Newell, age 91, of Chandler, Arizona, was embraced by the arms of Jesus. Carole was born April 2, 1933 in Dixon, Illinois to Howard and Mary Gertrude (Knight) Slothower.
As a strong young mother, Carole worked directly, usually two jobs, to raise four daughters with unwavering dedication and love. Carole cherished the times bowling with her mother; Gertie and sisters Joanne Dalke and Terri, however brother Clark Slothower was the champion. She enjoyed bowling tournaments with friends. Carole’s remarkable spirit and kindness shown through her work in the hospitality industry where everyone was welcomed with a smile. She loved unconditionally and she never asked for anything in return. Carole loved to dance. She was artistic and creative keeping busy with needlepoint and sewing and was great at puzzles. Later in life she loved spending time cruising with her late husband Kenny Newell.
Carole was blessed with a legacy of four girls, Karen (Alex) Rosenbach, Kathy (Jeff) Buntrock, Kristy (Tom) Smith and Lori Reneau. 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grand children and 3 great- great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by great grand daughter Destiny and her parents Howard and Gertrude Slothower and dear friend Edward Ruth.
