David Spaine Obituary

David L. Spaine, age 80, of Polo, died Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.

David was born November 2, 1942 in Batesville, IN, the son of Wendell and Lois (Carlyn) Spaine. He married Sandra L. Babich on June 4, 1963 in Mt. Morris. He was employed as a Teamster over the road truck driver for NWS&W in Sterling and C F for 30 years before retiring in 1998. David will be missed by his coffee buddies at Town and Country.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Spaine of Polo; Billie Jo (Chuck) Swink of Champion, NE and Bobbie Jo Panetta of Oakville, Ontario, Canada; and one granddaughter, Abigail Panetta. Love you forever, Papa! From, Abby.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward and Tom Spaine; one sister, Beverly Spaine; and one niece, Stacy Katner.

Per his request, there are no services or visitation. Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

A memorial has been established to Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
