Delores Ann (Hemminger) Miller, 76, passed away the evening of Wednesday, March 12, 2025, quietly at her home, with her husband at her side. She has been battling Huntington’s Disease for the past three years. Known to her friends as Dee, she was born and raised in Dixon, IL. Delores graduated from Dixon High School in 1966 and went on to graduate from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, Moline, IL in 1969. She worked as a nurse in the Moline area until she moved to Sarasota, FL in 1984. In 2007, she and her husband moved and settled in Gray, TN. Delores was forced to retire after a 40-year career in nursing, for medical reasons. Her passions were antiques and knitting.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 27 years, Thomas E. “Ed” Miller; daughter, Jennifer Miller and son, Trevor; brother, David Hemminger and wife, Judy; daughter, Sara Gutshall and her two daughters.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. The family will also receive friends in Dixon, IL from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
Delores will be laid to rest next to her parents at the Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens in Dixon, IL.
