Dennis L Bonnette

  Dennis L. Bonnette, 66, of Rock Falls died unexpectedly Thursday (April 2, 2015) at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.

  Dennis was born Mary 29, 1948 in Riceville, IA to Clyde & Arlene (Larson) Bonnette.   He was married to Jackie Shane and to this union 3 sons were born.  They later divorced.  He then married Marion Duchay in 1979.  She preceded him in death.  He is now survived by longtime girlfriend, Sandy Offen.

  He attended and graduated from Riceville Community School in Riceville, IA in 1966.

  He was retired after a 37.5 year career of over the road truck driving.

  He has lived in many states enjoying, New York, Oklahoma, Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota.  He also enjoyed his large family and extended family, fishing, boating, vacationing and had a love for antique tractors.

  Survivors also include:  2 sons:  John (Chris) Bonnette of Syracuse, Kansas, Matt (Andrea) Bonnette of Dixon; 3 adopted sons:  Jay Bonnette, Brett Bonnette and Justin Bonnette; 2 stepsons  Mark (Laura) Duchay and Butch (Melody) Duchay; a stepdaughter, Diana (Andy) DeGross; 1 brother, Thomas (Anna) Bonnette of Riceville, IA; two sisters: Karen (Jim) Gray of Spring Grove MN and Susie (Frank) Belmont of CA.; many foster children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, his second wife and an infant son.

  A visitation will be held Monday from 5-7 PM at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon and also from 9-11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.

  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with a luncheon to follow at the Dixon Elks Lodge.

  Cremation rites will be held following the services with inurnment and a memorial gathering in Riceville, IA at a later date.
