Dolores Asp

Dolores (Owen) Asp, 87, of Oregon, formerly of Dixon, died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Oregon Healthcare Center.  She was born Feb. 7, 1926 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of William and Ada (Thompson) Johnson.  She married Lavell Owen July 8, 1945 in Dixon.  She later married Robert Asp on Aug. 9, 1991 in Litchfield, MN.  He preceded her in death July 22, 1997.  She retired from Sauk Valley College in 1990.

She is survived by daughters Delores Channell of Pt. Orange, FL, Betty Dunne of Dixon and Jeanette (Mike) Smith of Tacoma, WA; a son Robert (Deb) Owen of Sterling; a sister Gwenivere Brown of Lady Lake, FL, a brother Gweldon Johnson of Zephry Hills, FL; daughter-in-laws Connie & Rose Owen; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by sons Thomas and Patrick Owen; a sister Marinetta Floto; brothers William and Franklin Johnson and great-grandson Klaus.

Graveside services are private at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
