Donald E. Rogers

  Donald E. Rogers, 92, of Dixon, passed away at 12:45 PM Tuesday (March 15, 2016) at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon.

  He retired as a Maintenance Supervisor at Flex-O-Glass in Dixon.

  He was born on February 11, 1924 in Dixon to Laverne & Alice (Kertley) Rogers.  He married the former Lou Wainscott on August 18, 1971 in Freeport.  She survives.

  He is also survived by his children:  Ron (Denise) Rogers of Bettendorf, IA, Judy (Leon) Farster of Grand Detour, Chuck (Michelle) Aldridge of Dixon, Larry (Tina) Aldridge of Dixon, David (Gina) Aldridge of Bandura, TX and Jane (Dan) Kempel of Pearl City; numerous grand and great grandchildren and a sister, Norma Oviett of Bellville, Nebraska.

  He was preceded in death by his parents.

  He graduated from Dixon High School and then served in the United States Army during World War II.

  He was a life member of the Dixon American Legion and the Dixon V.F.W.

  He loved motorcycles and birds.

  A visitation will be held from 9-11 AM Monday at the Northside Baptist Church in Dixon with services to follow at 11 AM at the church.  Rev. Dan Bentz will officiate.

  Interment with full military honors by the combined Veteran Organization in Dixon will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

  Memorials may be directed to his church or Serenity Hospice & Home.
