Donald G. Wernick Sr.

  Donald G. Wernick Sr., 74, of Dixon, passed away Wednesday (October 8, 2014) at the Dixon Healthcare & Rehab Center in Dixon.

  He was born on April 4, 1940 in Dixon to Clarence William & Myrtle Mary (Schmall) Wernick.  He married the former Peggy R. Maronde on January 28, 1957 in Oregon, IL.  She survives.

  Also surviving are two daughters:  Sue Wernick and Wendy (Ron) Wolber Sr., both of Dixon; 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and two brothers:  David (Mary) Wernick of Danville, IL and Tom Wernick of California.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald Wernick Jr.; a grandson, Damion and a sister, Cindy Sheperd.

  He retired from Rock River Tool & Die in 2000.

  Donald was a member of the Four Square Church in Dixon.

  A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM Saturday at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon with services to follow at 11 AM at the funeral home.  Rev. Gary Williams will officiate.

  Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
