Edward C. “Ed” Buse, 92, of Franklin Grove formerly of Polo, Il passed away at 12:05 AM Thursday (July 25, 2013) at the Franklin Grove Nursing Center in Franklin Grove, IL.
He was born on January 3, 1921 in Oregon, IL to Arthur S. & Tina (Britch) Buse. He married the former Iva. M. Reynolds on August 13, 1942 in Oregon, IL She preceded him in death on October 6, 1998.
Edward served in the United States Army during World War II in the 2nd Infantry Division where he served two years in the Europeon and African Theater. He was a Standard Agent for the Standard Oil Company for 32 years. He had been a member of the Polo Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Polo American Legion, the Polo Masonic Lodge, the Freeport Scottish Rite, and the Tebala Shrine Temple of Rockford.
He is survived by his “kids”, Dale and Laura Pitzer of Franklin Grove and a brother, Arnold A. (Wilma) Buse of Oregon; 5 grandchildren: Jeff (Shelley) and Randy Pitzer, Linda (Kurt) Dressnandt, Lisa (Chris) Jahn and Melinda Pitzer; 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Martin F. Buse and a grandson, Mike Pitzer.
A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Monday at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM on Monday at the funeral home with the Pastor Jack M. Briggs officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel Hills Memorial Garden Mausoleum with full military services provided by the combined veterans organizations.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Veterans Memorial Park in Dixon.
