Edward L. Cover

          Edward L. Cover, age 81, of Amboy, died Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

          Edward was born October 4, 1941 in Dixon the son of Clarence and Clara (Geiger) Cover.  He served in the US Army and later married Pamala Dodd on January 7, 1961 in Eldena.  Edward retired from Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling and also worked at Ace Hardware in Dixon for 20 years.

          He is survived by his wife of Amboy; his children, Jim (Sherry) Cover of Tulsa, OK and Dan (Jamie) Cover of Eldena; grandchildren, Whitney Edge, Brooke (Cale) Bentley, Felicia Cover, and Austin Cover; great grandchildren, Cheyanne, Dawson, Kysen, and one on the way; siblings, Norma (Jack) Burmeister of Dixon, Hazel (Larry) Droste of Dixon, Lois (Francis) King of Dixon, Esther (Wayne) Kletschka of WI, Alvin (Beverly) Cover of Rock Falls, Kenneth (Rebecca) Cover of MI, and Richard (Betty) Cover of Dixon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

          He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Harry, Edith, John, Dutch, William, Eugene, and Carol Ann in infancy.

          A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

          A memorial has been established.
