Eleanor Anne Catherine Thrasher
Dixon - Eleanor Anne Catherine Thrasher, 92 of Dixon Illinois, passed away June 12, 2019. Eleanor was born on the farm where they lived in Ashton September 15 1926, the daughter of Clarence and Gertrude Schafer. She attended schools in Ashton and some country school. She had to ride school buss’s to get to town schools. She had an emergency appendix operation while in her last year of school and could not complete that year of school. She moved to Dixon and completed a business school to become a secretary. She then works for a local insurance firm. During world war two she work for a defense plant new Dixon. After the war she met and married Robert Thrasher. She then got a job working for a firm that made fishing lures, which were made from wood. Eleanor made her home in several rent home’s in Dixon and one in Harmon. They build a home on Hemlock Ave which they sold and bought her present home on Eight Street in Dixon. Eleanor believe in very child having a meal before school and work daily with feed the children. She love to bowl and work on her family Genealogy. Eleanor and Bob were blessed with two Children. A girl named Nadine and a boy named Roger.
Survivors include Husband Robert Thrasher. A brother Melvin Schafer(Betty Schafer). a daughter Nadine Wickert (Jim Wickert) of Dixon, a son Roger Thrasher (Bekki Thrasher) of Dixon. Grandchildren Teri Keegan(Jim Keegan), Allen Wickert(Cheri Wickert Ben Thrasher(Darci Thrasher), Nick Thrasher, Adam Thrasher(Betsy Thrasher). Great Grandchildren Ellie Keegan, Jacob Wickert, Mollee Wickert, Dylan Thrasher, Tim Thrasher, Marc Thrasher.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon. A funeral service will be Saturday at 11:30 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Stan Rodabaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
