Elizabeth M (McNinch) Cook

  Elizabeth M. Cook, 84, of Dixon, passed away at 7:55 PM Saturday (October 18, 2014) at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL.

  She was born on August 30, 1930 in Sterling to Everett & Charlotte McNinch.  She married Ervin “Gib” Cook on March 3, 1950 in Rock Falls.  He preceded her in death on December 17, 2008.

  She is survived by daughters:  Rebecca (Rick) Smith of Lyndon, Shelly (Tim) Williams, Nita (Richard) Bridger, both of Bono, Ark; sons:  Edward Cook of Rock Falls, Frank Cook of Rochelle and Robert (Violet) Cook of Dixon; grandchildren:  Linda (Chris ) Hendrick of Forreston, Heidi (Adam) Cook, Michael (Holly) Smith, Christopher Coy, James (Brenna) Cook, Violet Thayer, Joseph Lewis and Crystal Kenney all of Dixon; great grandchildren:  Grace & Emma Smith, Jariyah & Jy’ralde Chattic, Christopher & Jasmine Hendrick, Marcus & Isaiah Shover; a sister:  Geraldine (Charles) Fargher of Rock Falls and a very special friend Diane Smith.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters:  Mary Paul and Wanda Cook and brothers:  Sunny, Chuckie and Dale McNinch.

  She graduated from Rock Falls High School and retired from the Jack Mabley Center in Dixon after 35 years.

  Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon.  Rev. Dr. Vincent Marrandino, of pastoral care at K.S.B. Hospital will officiate and also conduct graveside rites at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.  A visitation will be held from 9-11 AM prior to the services.
