Elma M (Gilbert) Haas

  Elma M. Haas, 79, of Polo, passed away a 9:10 PM Friday (October 9, 2015) at C.G.H. Medical Center in Sterling.

  She was a homemaker.

  She was born on July 9, 1936 in Polo, IL to Orville & Marcella (Russell) Gilbert.  She married Frank Haas Sr. on August 3, 1974.  He preceded her in death.

  She is survived by her children:  Elwood (Deb) Sarver Jr. of Portage, WI, Cherrie (Marvin Jr.) Cheever of Mt. Morris, Lonie (Cindy) Sarver Sr., of Mt. Morris, Kim Sarver of Mt. Morris, Valerie (Kenneth) Ludewig of Polo, Melissa Haas of Polo and Timothy Haas of Polo; a stepdaughter, Janice Johnson of Dixon and a stepson, Frank Haas Jr., of Phoenix, AZ; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; her siblings:  Kenneth Gilbert of Sun City, AZ, Esther Cox of Polo, Clifford “Butch” (Shirley) Gilbert of Oregon, IL, Edith (Tim) Singley of Polo, Viola Phillips of Blencoe, IA; and LaVonne (Carroll) Taylor of Oregon, IL.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1998; 3 children:  Robert Gilbert, David Sarver and Pansy Sarver; a brother, Laverne Gilbert and sisters:  Opal Cruse, Arvella Coy, Leona Sanders and Marcellene Jones.

  A visitation will be held from 10 AM until Noon Tuesday at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon.

  Funeral services will be held at Noon Tuesday at the Funeral Home.  Rev. John Guthrie of the East Oregon Chapel will officiate and conduct graveside rites at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
