Eugene J Hillison

  Eugene “Geno” J. Hillison, 89, of Sterling, passed away at 10:37 AM Sunday (December 6, 2015) at Regency Care in Sterling.

  He was born October 12, 1926 in Sublette, IL to Chris & Ruby (Deutch) Hillison.  He married the former Martha Sigel on October 27, 1951 n Amboy.  She survives.

  He is also survived by a daughter, Darlene Garcia of Titusville, FL.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

  He graduated from Lee Center High School and then served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

  He had worked at the Freeman Shoe Factory and retired from the Dixon Public School District as a custodian.

  Private graveside rites were held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Jack Smith officiated.  Full Military rites were conducted also at the cemetery by the combined Dixon Veterans organizations.

  The Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon was in charge of the arrangements.
