Frederick S. "Fritz" Sneek

Frederick S. “Fritz” Sneek, 89, of Dixon died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at his residence.  He was born November 1, 1923 in Freeport, the son of George and Rena (Terhark) Sneek.  He married Shirley Fritzenmeier Sept. 18, 1948 in Freeport.  She preceded him in death October 15, 2007.  He served in the Army, 553^rd B Battery AAA as a T4 auto mechanic.  Fred will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. 

His survivors include daughters Sharri (Dennis) Antoine of West Brooklyn and Becki (John) Martin of Dixon; grandchildren Joe (Melanie) Bergstrom, Michele Bergstrom, Kristen (Rick) Gaither and Tyler Burdick; great-grandchildren Tyler, Chase, Ashley, “Lil” Chase, Bradly, Jerreck, Nykollette and Gage; greatgreat-grandchild Cameron; sisters Kathryn (Larry) Yingling and Jenny Thompson and a brother Melvin (Mary) Sneek.  He was preceded in death by his wife, infant daughter Shirlene Kay Sneek, infant son Frederick Douglas Sneek and brothers Simon and Alfred Sneek.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, April 22, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Rev. Dr. Vincent Marrandino Director of Pastoral Care at KSB Hospital officiating.  Interment with military honors being accorded by the combined Dixon Veterans Group will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Sunday, April 23, 2013 at the funeral home.
