Garry L. O'Farrell

  Garry L. O’Farrell, 72, of Dixon, passed away at 12:46 AM Thursday (February 11, 2016) at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL.

  He was born January 21, 1944 in Robinson, IL to Earl L. & Martha Jane (Johnson) O’Farrell.  He married the former Julia Romero on September 29, 1984 in Denver, CO.  She survives.

  He is also survived by his mother, Martha Jane O’Farrell of South Elgin; a granddaughter, Katlyn Owsley of Haleyville, Alabama; his twin brother, Larry (Connie) O’Farrell of Virginia; a brother, Mike O’Farrell of Roselle, IL; sisters:  Pat (George) Karwatzki of South Elgin, Martha Lynn Rapach of Gilbert and Rebecca Ann (Bruce) Rosenthal of Woodstock.

  He was preceded in death by his father a daughter, Sheila Rae Owsley and a brother, T.S. O’Farrell.

  He served in the United States Army.

  He had worked as a shift supervisor for B.F. Goodrich Co. in the 1970’s and then was Manager of Wabash Data Tech in 1980’s and retired January 1, 2009 as the Plant Manager at Flex-O-Glass in Dixon, IL.

  He was a member of the 1^ST Open Bible Church in Rock Falls and was also a licensed minister with Maskil International.

  A visitation will be held from 9-11 AM Saturday February 20, 2016 at the First Open Bible Church in Rock Falls.   Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday February 20, 2016 at the church with Rev. Les Funderberg and Rev. Freddie Powell will officiate.

  Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon on Monday February 22, 2016 at 10 AM.

  The Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon is in charge of the arrangements.
