Gerald D. Martinson

Gerald D. Martinson, age 88, of Dixon, died Friday, April 18, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

          Gerald was born March 27, 1937 in Iowa City, IA, the son of Rueben and Laura (Peterman) Martinson.  He served in the US Army and later married Betty Berogan on October 6, 1979.  Gerald was employed at Rock River Ready Mix for many years and was an avid Cubs, Bears, and Bulls fan.

          He is survived by his wife, Betty Martinson of Dixon; one sister, Dorene Corbin of Polo; three step children, Dorothy (Mike) Milburn of Dixon, John Chupp of Dixon, and Kenneth J. Anderson of CA; ten step grandchildren; and thirteen step great grandchildren.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Martinson; four brothers-in-law, Robert Corbin, Leroy Wakenight, Kenneth Berogan, and August Berogan; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Wakenight and Louise Berogan; one step grandson; and four half brothers.

          A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
