Grant A. Kersten

Grant A. Kersten, age 40, of DeKalb, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022, at his home in DeKalb, Illinois.  He was born June 13, 1982, in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of Orv and Bonnie (Kerchner) Kersten.

Grant graduated from DeKalb High School and also attended Kishwaukee College in Malta, IL.  At the time of his death, Grant was working for his landlord doing maintenance work.  Grant enjoyed collecting records from all over the world.  He had hundreds of records in his collection and loved the anticipation as he waited for the arrival of a new record. 

Grant is survived by his mother, Bonnie Kersten, of Muskego, WI; sisters Laura (Brock) Sanderson of Lee, IL, Tara Kersten of New Berlin, WI, and Becky (David) Myroth of Rochelle, IL, and brother, Brett Kersten (Elizabeth) of Davis, CA; nephews Trent, Talon, and Trace Mencias of New Berlin, WI; nephew, Jacob, and nieces Paige and Brooke Myroth of Rochelle, IL; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. 

Grant was preceded in death by his father, Orv Kersten, his brother, Bradley Kersten, his grandparents, Oscar and Ethel Kerchner, and Arthur and Norma Kersten.  Graveside services for Grant will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon, IL.
