Helen E. Midgett

          Helen E. Midgett, age 84, of Dixon, died Sunday, June 20, 2021 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

          Helen was born September 11, 1936 in Dixon the daughter of Edwin and Madge (Bates) Barlow.  She married William F. Midgett in 1996 in Florida.  He preceded her in death on February 16, 2015.  Helen was employed at Open Sesame Daycare in Dixon as well as Wal-Mart in Wisconsin and Florida.  She had a very strong faith and loved the Lord.  She was a member of Bethel Church in Dixon where she was active in the Ladies Prayer Breakfast Group.  At her church in Missouri, she sang with the Gospel Volunteers.  Helen enjoyed walking, riding bikes on trails and embroidery.

          She is survived by four children, Douglas (Beverly) Frye of Doniphan, Mo., Richard (Dianne) Frye, Lewis (Dina) Frye and David (Shelly) Frye all of Dixon; one brother, Edwin, Jr. (Judy) Barlow of Harmony, Maine; three sisters-in-law, Evelyn, Phyllis and Shirley all of Jonesboro, Ark.; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.

          She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Donald “Ike” Frye, Jr.; and three sisters, Dorothy Webster, Betty Near and Lois Doty.

          Visitation will be Friday, June 25, 2021 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon with the funeral immediately following at 5:00 PM with Reverend Randy Sizemore of Bethel Church in Dixon officiating.  Inurnment will take place at a later date at State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.

A memorial has been established to Bethel Church in Dixon.
