James G Kirby

James G. Kirby, 93, of Dixon, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at OSF HealthCare of Dixon.

James was born on March 14, 1932, the son of James and Lora (Burgess) Kirby. He served over 35 years as the Dixon Township Road Commissioner.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Kirby of Dixon; one son, Steven (Kathy) Kirby of Queen Valley, AZ; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Valerie) Kirby of Dixon and Nicole (Brian) Ranken of Queen Valley, AZ; five great grandchildren, Alexander (Destiny) Becker of Alamogordo, NM, Jericho Kirby of Dixon, Mykaylah Kirby of Dixon, Kimberly Ranken of Queen Valley, AZ, and Madolynn Kirby of Dixon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Norma Lee (O'Neal) Kirby in 1975; two sisters, Lorine Richard and Louise Johnson.

A visitation will take place from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home of Dixon. Graveside service will immediately follow the visitation and take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens of Dixon with Pastor Brian Tribley officiating.

Memorials have been established to Granny Rose Animal Shelter.
