James R. Lohse, age 74, of Dixon, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Jim was born February 25, 1949 in Princeton, IL, the son of Roy and Helen (Anderson) Lohse. He was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Germany. He was also in the Military Reserves for four years and was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was known to many people as “Jimbo”. Jim married Shirley Thomas on February 25, 2005 in Bloomington. He was a plumber by trade and was known as one of the best plumbers around. He loved fishing, camping, and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Lohse of Dixon; two sons, David (Tessa) Lohse and Roy (Kelly) Lohse both of Dixon; one sister, Laura (Dale) Pitzer; one brother, Ralph (Julie) Lohse; eight grandchildren; five step grandchildren; one great grandchild; and aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step father, Ralph Gallimore; and two brothers, Dennis and Gary.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon.
