Judy Jane Widergren (Schmall)
August 10, 1941 – November 15, 2025
Judy June Widergren, age 84, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025 in Titusville, FL. She was born on August 10, 1941, in Dixon, Illinois, to John Joseph and Ellen May (Hill) Schmall. Raised in the Catholic faith, Judy’s spiritual journey later led her to practice as a devoted Methodist, reflecting her lifelong commitment to God and to a life of faith.
Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her children, Charles (Cecy) Eade and Gene Widergren; her grandchildren, Matthew Eade and Sarah Eade; and her great-grandchildren, Kayden and Chase. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cherished relatives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gaylord Widergren; her son, Perry Eade; her brothers, Leo Schmall, Ernest Schmall, Virgil Schmall, Clarence Schmall, and Melvin Schmall; and her sisters, Dorothea Carlson (Schmall), Lillian Clevenger (Schmall), Marie Autry (Schmall), Bonnie Whitlock (Schmall), Alma Moyer (Schmall), Virgina Warren (Schmall), and Anise Schmall, with whom she is now joyfully reunited.
Judy treasured attending church, spending time with her family, and sharing her vibrant, warm spirit with everyone she met. She was known for her bubbly personality, her love of celebrating birthdays, and her cherished tradition of singing “You Are My Sunshine”—a memory her family will hold dear forever.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 4th, 2025 at St Wendelin Catholic Church in Shannon, IL with a Rosary service at 9:45 a.m. and a Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Bolger officiating, followed by a luncheon. Committal and burial will take place at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Dixon, Illinois, at 1:30 p.m. presided by Deacon Terry from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dixon, IL.
Judy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, the joy she brought to others, and the boundless love she shared. May she rest in eternal peace in the loving arms of God.
