Karen L. Boren, 73, of Polo, passed away at 4:45 PM Sunday April 5, 2015 at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon.
She was born on February 28, 1942 in Monroe, WI to Vincent & Helen (Strauss) Lingg. She married Wayne R. Boren on November 25, 1961 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Polo. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2006.
She is survived by a daughter: Beth (Michael) Green of Polo; a son, Eric (Jessica) Boren of Forreston; 4 grandchildren: Erica (Aceley) Foster, Megan Boren, Clark Green and Jason Green and one great grandson, Chase Foster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister Vergene.
She graduated from Polo Community High School and had attended Carthage College.
Karen was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and was a lifetime member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Polo where she was a great volunteer. She was a former member of the Polo Jaycee-ete’s and loved to do puzzles, crossword, crafts and was a very avid reader.
A visitation will be held from 10 AM until Noon Thursday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Polo. Funeral services will be at Noon Thursday at the church with Rev. Terrie Wilder officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the church with interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon at 2:45 PM following the luncheon.
The Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon is in charge of the arrangements.
