Leona A. Babich

          Leona A. Babich, age 95, of Franklin Grove, died Friday, December 14, 2018 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center.

          Leona was born March 15, 1923 in Dixon the daughter of Leonard and Ora (Mall) Petrie.  She married John M. Babich on August 7, 1943 in Syracuse, N.Y.  He preceded her in death on July 3, 2000.  She was a homemaker.

          Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (David) Spaine of Polo; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

          She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, John Michael; one daughter, Teresa Mae Nelson; one son-in-law, Arthur Nelson; and two brothers, Raymond Petrie and Donald Petrie.

          Visitation will be Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 10 – 10:45 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon.  Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.  A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

          A memorial has been established to Unity Hospice.
