Leonard M. Springer

Leonard M. Springer, age 75, of Dixon, died Friday, May 30, 2025 at his home.

          Leonard was born July 24, 1949 in Dixon, IL, the son of Martin and Julia (Berei) Springer.  He served in the US Navy and was employed at Allied Lock for many years.  Leonard married Shirley Hitchcock on
February 14, 2003 in Dixon.  He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.

          He is survived by his wife, Shirley Springer of Dixon; two sons, Matthew (Maggie) Springer of Brandon, S.D. and Eric (Chris) Springer of St. Charles; three sisters, Carol Maas, Christine Dowell, and Debra Nichols all of Dixon; one brother, Kenneth (Linda) Springer of Dixon; and two granddaughters.

          He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.

          At his request, cremation rites will be accorded and there are no services.
