Lloyd E. Smith

Lloyd E. Smith, age 84, of Oregon, died Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at OSF St. Katherine Medical Center in Dixon.

          Lloyd was born May 3, 1940 in Polo, IL, the son of Miles and Ina Smith.  He married Mary Vancil on January 15, 1966 in Dixon.  She preceded him in death on April 6, 2025.  Lloyd worked as a farmer and a factory worker over the years.

          He is survived by one daughter, Danielle Diaz of Oregon; one son, Robert (Deborah) Smith of Denver, NC; one brother, Charles (Brenda) Smith of Galesburg; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

          He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one daughter, Esther Smith; and one sister, Helen Smith.

          A visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon.  The funeral will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Carlson officiating.  Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

          A memorial has been established.
