Lois M. Fox, 92, of Franklin Grove, died Wednesday, April 30, 2025, after a short illness. Born in
December 1932 in Laverne, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Vernon and Lennie Yonk Vandermoon.
The family later moved to a farm near Thomas, Illinois. She graduated from Manlius High School in 1951.
Lois married Robert “Bob” Fox in January of 1953 in Manlius, IL. The couple celebrated their 72nd anniversary this past January. She and Bob spent the majority of their life together in Dixon. She worked from time to time outside the home at local businesses. Lois kept their home beautifully and enjoyed baking, crafting, cross-stitch, and quilting. Her family lovingly remembers her telling them often and with a smile that “there’s always room for ice cream.”
Lois is survived by her devoted husband, Bob; their sons, Michael (Deborah) Fox of Greer, SC and Gregory (Diane) Fox of McHenry, IL; and by her grandsons, Robert Fox of Greer, SC and Jarod Fox of Minneapolis, MN; and by her sisters Dorothy Carlson and Janet Clementz; as well as many nieces and nephews and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Veral and Clifford Vandermoon and her sister Charlotte Vandermoon Blackert.
In accordance with Lois’s wishes, no funeral service is planned. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Dixon. A graveside service will be held for immediate family members only.
