Mary Ellen Bend

Mary Ellen Bend, age 80 of Dixon, died Wednesday, June 24, 2026 in her daughter’s arms.

Mary was born on February 3, 1946 in Dixon, the daughter of Leslie James and Alice Louise (Pierce) Bend. She graduated from Oregon High School. Mary worked at Etnyre Company in Oregon for many years. She enjoyed billiards, going for rides in the country, animals-especially her rescue cats, and most of all- spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Madeline Nettz of Dixon; two grandchildren, Shaeley Nettz of Sterling and Jase (Shanna) Nettz of Dixon; six great grandchildren, Ivan Jacobson, Melody Jacobson, Jasia Nettz, Shylin Nettz, Nijah Nettz, and Analyce Nettz; son-in-law, Dale Nettz of Dixon; three sisters, Alycia Marshall of Dixon, Tammy Bend (Kenny Silva) of Sterling, and Penelope  Miller (Tom Van Sickle) of Chana; and nieces and nephews, Chantel Miller, Naomi McDevitt, and James Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Madeline, Suzanne, and Cheryl Bend; and one nephew, Robert Thompson.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 1:00-3:00 P.M. at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 3:00 P.M.
