Survivors include his wife, Alice; one daughter, Debra (Jeff) Hockensmith of Williams, Arizona; one son, Samuel (Paula) Ebersole of Mt. Morris, Illinois; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Lois (Leroy) Bair of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Ebersole was preceded in death by two children in infancy; one daughter, Dora Quimby of Lakeland, Florida; one brother, John Ebersole; five sisters, Edna, Ruth, Elizabeth, Anna and Mildred; and one great granddaughter in infancy.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon.  The Celebration of Life will be Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Sauk Valley Community Church in Dixon with Jeffrey Hockensmith officiating.  Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon, led by Pastor Steve Hess.

In lieu of flowers, money can be sent to Merle’s niece, who ministers to women in prisons: We Care Program, 3493 Hwy 21, Atmore, AL, 36502.  In care of or memo: for FAWN JACOBS.
