Michelle M. O'Brien Tabor

Michelle M. O’Brien Tabor, age 45, of Sterling, died Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

          Michelle was born August 9, 1976 in Dixon the daughter of Rebecca Gearhart.  She married Meagan Tabor on July 8, 2014 in Dixon.  Michelle previously held multiple managerial positions in the area.  She enjoyed music, loved animals especially her four dogs, and was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan.  She loved being a host to friends and family for game nights.

          She is survived by her spouse, Meagan Tabor of Sterling; her mother, Rebecca Gearhart of Ragland, Ala., one brother, Michael O’Brien of Dixon; her grandmother, Joan Walker of Mt. Morris; two cousins, Patrick (Jennifer) Lee of Byron and Nicole Huggins of Dixon; a niece and nephew who referred to her as “Uncle Mitch”, Emma and Kyle Ortgiesen; her mother-in-law and step father-in-law, Chris and Brian Babel; her father-in-law, Dennis Tabor; one sister-in-law, Misty Tabor; two brothers-in-law, Casey (Tanja) Babel and Eric (Lizzie) Babel; and grandparents-in-law, Don and Leora Babel.

          She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Melvin S. “Pat” O’Brien; her cousin, Danielle Huggins; and Danielle’s unborn child, Janelle.

          Visitation will be Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 9:00-11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon followed by the funeral at 11:00 AM with Pastor Roger Carlson officiating. 

          In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
