Patricia M. Warner

Patricia Mildred "Pat" Warner, 86, of Dixon, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, in her hometown of Dixon. Born on March 2, 1939, to parents Charles and Hazel Lawson in Dixon, Illinois, Pat was adopted into the Preas family at the age of six after her father died.

 Patricia was a lifelong resident of the community she loved. She graduated from Dixon High School in 1957 and married the love of her life (Donald Russell Warner) on March 4, 1958. She dedicated her life to her family and the land they worked together. As a devoted wife and mother, Pat worked alongside her husband on their dairy and grain farm, and traveled with their competition horses.

 She embodied strength, resilience, and unwavering commitment. Her home was a place of comfort and creativity. Pat had a passion for arts and crafts and spent countless hours painting and creating with care. She delighted in word games like Scrabble and crossword puzzles, always quick with a clever turn of phrase or a witty remark that brought laughter to those around her. Her love for reading enriched her conversations and deepened the wisdom she so freely shared. Cooking was another way Pat expressed her love—her kitchen was often filled with the comforting aromas of meals prepared for those she held dear. Whether it was a holiday feast or a simple weekday dinner, every dish carried the warmth of her generous spirit. Pat’s life was marked by service—to her family, her church, and her community. A faithful member of Turning Point Citi Church in Dixon, she found joy in giving back through acts of kindness and generosity. She served regularly at the church’s food pantry, offering not just nourishment but also warmth and encouragement to those who came through its doors. 

Her legacy lives on through the lives of her children: Diane Grover (John), Donald Warner (Paula), Jim Warner (Stacey), and David Warner (Kristy), 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 8 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald and daughter Christine West. Three brothers and one sister also preceded her in death. Pat is survived by two brothers (Jim Lawson and Frank Preas) and one sister (Joy Pankhurst).

 Patricia made friends everywhere she went, she was known as everyone's Grandma, and her positive words of encouragement made her everyone's cheerleader. Those who knew Pat will remember her quick wit, kind heart, generous nature, inspiring presence, wise counsel, and ever-present warm smile. She touched many lives with quiet strength and enduring grace. May Patricia’s memory bring comfort to all who were blessed to know her. A private memorial for immediate family will be held at a later date.
