Roland “Chub” H. Knudsen

          Roland “Chub” H. Knudsen, age 98, of Harmon, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Dixon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

          Roland was born September 21, 1922 in Sheffield the son of Herman and Helena (Jorgensen) Knudsen.  He married Dorothy Haak on October 15, 1969 at the Rock Falls United Methodist Church.  She preceded him in death on November 1, 2017.  Roland was born and raised on a farm and became a lifelong farmer.  He was a member of the Dixon Elk’s Lodge.

          He is survived by one sister, Norma Kellen of Dixon and several nieces and nephews.

          He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one step son, Michael Bonnell; two brothers, Bernard (Betty) Knudsen and Norbert Knudsen; two sisters, Eileen (Russell) Hahn and Beverly (Raymond) Pitzer; and one brother-in-law, Cecil J. Kellen.

          A private graveside service will take place at a later date.

          In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Serenity Hospice and Home and Granny Rose Animal Shelter.

          Arrangements were completed by Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon.
