Rose C. Coss

Rose Carol Coss, 99, formerly of Amboy, passed away on November 30, 2021 at Franklin Grove Living Center in Franklin Grove. Rose was born on March 8, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Anton and Rosa Siegel Mehlfelder.

She married Jay B. Coss on June 16, 1945 in Nutley, NJ . He preceded her in death on May 9, 1994.

Surviving is one daughter, Margaret E. ( Howard G. ) Shaw of Amboy; grandchildren, Karin A. ( Russ) King of Ft. Collins, CO;  Howard Jay( Beth ) Shaw of Amboy; Charles L.(Jessica DeJaynes) Shaw of Petersburg; and Matthew A. (Erin) Shaw of Marion: great- grandchildren, Rayne, Melody, Will, Riley, Marie, Addison, Wynndermere, Izaak, Charles C., Reese, Logan, Madelyn,  Carter, and Owen ; and one brother, Edward Mehlfelder.

Preceding her in death are her parents, children, Richard A. Coss, Kathleen Coss, and Karen Coss; one great-grandchild , William J.; 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Rose Attended Bethel Evangelical Church in Dixon. She enjoyed knitting, word puzzles, and game shows.  She enjoyed spending time with her family the most and was very dedicated.

She was a loving Wife, Mother , Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, and Friend. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon with the family leading the service.
