It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Evelyn Pitts, age 90 of Dixon, Illinois, who died July 21st from complications due to cancer. She was a loving mother, a special person, and will be remembered by all who knew her.
Born on May 28th, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois, Ruth possessed a creative soul she loved to share with others. She expressed herself through her creations, whether by knitting, cross-stitching, and much, much more—she can certainly be described as a woman of many talents. Her sense of humor was infectious and brought joy into the lives of everybody she met.
Preceding her in joining the Lord are her father and mother, Theodore and Azelie Mally; and her children Mark, Thomas, and Eileen Pitts.
She is survived by her children Michaelene Pitts, John (Haley) Pitts, James Pitts, Glenn (Patti) Pitts, David Pitts, and Linda (William) Hill. She was a cherished grandmother of 28, great-grandmother of 29, and great-great-grandmother of 4.
Memorial services will be held at Saint Andrew the Apostle Church, located at 505 Kingston Drive, Romeoville, Illinois 60446 on July 29, 2025 at 10:30 A.M., followed by her internment at Resurrection Cemetery, 200 West Romeo Road, Romeoville, Illinois 60446.
Friends and family are welcome to join in celebrating her life after the internment at Fat Ricky’s restaurant, 646 North Independence Boulevard, Romeoville, Illinois 60446.
