Obituary
Sandra L. Spaine, age 78, of Polo, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 1, 2023 at her home surrounded by close family.
Sandra was born October 5, 1944 in Dixon the daughter of John and Leona (Petrie) Babich. She married David Spaine on June 4, 1963 in Mt. Morris. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2023. Sandra worked many years in the catering industry before retiring in 2019. Her favorite pastime was enjoying watching her granddaughter Abigail dance. “I’ll be dancing for you always Grandma - Love Abby!”
She is survived by her two daughters, Bobbie Jo Panetta of Oakville, Ontario, Canada and Billie Jo (Chuck) Swink of Champion, NE; one granddaughter, Abigail Panetta; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years; her parents; one brother, John M. Babich; one sister, Teresa M. Nelson; and brother-in-law, Art Nelson.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon with lunch to follow.
A memorial has been established to the family.
