Susan L. Schaefer

          Susan L. Schaefer, age 67, of Mendota, died Thursday, February 21, 2019 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

          Susan was born November 29, 1951 in Dixon the daughter of Dwight Hintz and Alice (Lafferty) Sullivan.  Susan was employed at Mapleside Manor in Amboy for 21 years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her daughter, grandchildren and great grandson.

          Survivors include her husband, Fred Schaefer of Mendota; one daughter, Debbie (Cody Trosclair) Johnson of Mendota; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Hess, Devin Johnson and Aidan Johnson; and one great grandson, Benjamin Hiebing.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Butch Hintz; one sister, Lynn Frye; and her step father, Clarence Sullivan.

          Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

          In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the American Heart Association.
