Twila K. Beard

Twila K. Beard, age 70, of Dixon, died Friday, February 25, 2022 at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

          Twila was born March 30, 1951 in Menominee, MI, the daughter of Emil and Mildred (Jergens) Nelson.  She was employed at Borg Warner for many years, as well as Woods and, most recently, Kreider Services for 18 years.  Twila married Donald Beard on May 31st 2000. She enjoyed reading, crafting, Sudoku puzzles, gardening, taking bus trips with family & friends, quilting and crocheting. She always made sure she fed the birds.  She also enjoyed making and donating afghans to her church.  Twila was especially fond of and involved with her grandchildren.  She was active at the Dixon Senior Center and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon.

          She is survived by her husband of Dixon; two daughters, Shannon Mazzarisi of Rochelle and Natasha (Mike) Masters of Dixon; two step children, Ben (Mindy) Beard of Dixon and Amy (Matt) Glenn of Williston, N.D.; two sisters, Audrey Anderson of Peshtigo, WI and Linda Djupstrom of Menominee, MI; eleven grandchildren; Christopher, Dominick, Samantha, Abigail, Emily, Kyersten, Keenan, Paige, Morgan, Hope and Micah; one great grandchild, Mathew; first husband Robert (Kathryn) Coy of Lyndon, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; her step father, Tip Nelson; and one daughter, Kristen LeAnna Coy.

          Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 10:00 AM – Noon at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon followed by the funeral at Noon with Pastor David Schweppe officiating & Reverend Dave Rogula co-officiating. Luncheon directly following at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

          A memorial has been established.
